Scott stumbled into winemaking thanks to two friends and has been making award-winning wines since 2007.  The Murto Vineyard Pinot Noir from that year won gold at the Willamette Valley Amateur Competition.  Among the 40-plus medals earned over the past four years are Best in Show for both Red Wine and White Wine at the Oregon State Fair.

With a history in collecting and cellaring wines, and broad tastes, it was just a few years before there were 10 and 12 wines in production every year.  A tradition that continues to this day.  Beaverton is in the beautiful Willamette Valley so naturally we make Pinot Noir and some cool weather white wines.  We also source grapes from the Yakima and Horse Heaven Hills AVA’s in the Columbia Valley where the warmer, dryer climate yields classic Bordeaux and Big Italian red varietals.

After four years as an active duty US Marine, Cameron returned to Oregon, joined his father in winemaking, and started formal studies at the Northwest Wine Studies Center.  Together they are the owners and winemakers of NW Wine Works and Résolu Cellars, a venture they launched in 2013.

Early on Scott learned that aging wine in quality oak for a minimum of 20 months resulted in higher quality, better tasting wines.  Wines are aged 22 months and today we use a mix of new, 1-2 year old and neutral oak barrels.  Predominantly French Oak, but also some American (Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, Pennsylvania) and Hungarian Oak Barrels.  Wines are kept separate as single vineyard, single varietals until blending decisions are made three to five months prior to bottling.  Blends are made and returned to barrel for minimum three months for the highest quality results.

We bring a blend of formal education, hands-on learning, science and art to the winery in our passion to create truly exceptional wines.  Our focus is on continuous learning and continuous improvement.  You can often find Cameron or Scott in the winery sharing their knowledge and expertise with others.  We are a ‘teaching’ winery and always ready to share our passion for the craft of winemaking.  As you join our community of wine fans we believe you too will find us approachable and accessible.  Consider us your personal winemakers.

We have made the following wines: Barbera, ‘Triomphe’ (Bordeaux style blend), Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Côte-Rôtie style blend, Dolcetto, Gewürztraminer, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot, estate Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Primitivo, Riesling, Rosé of Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Syrah, Super Tuscan style blend, Vino Barbitivo blend, Viognier, Zinfandel.

Résolu Cellars is a new micro-boutique winery producing ultra-premium NW wines.  Hand-crafted small lot wines with high attention to quality.  We focus primarily on red wines and make an occasional white or Rosé.  Current production level is 425 cases annually.  We are the first urban winery in Beaverton, OR and looking forward to growing and providing our fans with wines that exceed expectation.  Please join our mailing list and keep track of our journey as Our Story continues to develop.
